Evan Williams and I worked together as film reviewers for The Australian for almost 30 years. He was a keen film enthusiast who loved screening his favourite movies for friends and family at his home. A former political staffer, he was also an excellent writer who possessed a perceptive vision. When he served on the Film Censorship Review Board he always took a liberal and positive approach. He retired a couple of years ago, but we stayed in touch and he was always keen to keep up with the latest movie releases.
I’ll miss him a great deal. – David Stratton
